A self-taught artist with a natural gift for drawing, Mike works across a wide range of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, clay, colored pencils, and digital tools. He’s equally at home painting serene landscapes, lifelike portraits, expressive animals, or experimental abstracts. Mike brings energy, detail, and emotion into everything he creates—his art is as varied as his imagination.

Mike is best known as the co-creator and star of the beloved children’s television show Pappyland, which aired on PBS and The Learning Channel from 1993 to 1997. As Pappy Drew-It, he taught kids how to draw simple cartoons while sharing wholesome stories and adventures alongside a colorful cast of puppets and handcrafted sets—many of which he designed himself.

He’s now teamed up again with Pappyland co-creator Jon Nappa on a new project: The Art, Song, and Story Palace—a joyful blend of music, storytelling, and arts & crafts now streaming on YouTube.
